Colwich and the Haywoods have been twinned with Rimbach, Odenwald in Germany for over 30 years.

The aims of the Association are:

  • to promote and foster the friendship and understanding between the people of Colwich & The Haywoods and those of Rimbach in Germany;
  • to encourage visits by individuals and groups to and from linked communities, particularly by children and young people,
  • to encourage the development of personal contacts,

and by so doing to broaden the mutual understanding of the cultural, recreational, educational and commercial activities of the linked communities.

Colwich & Haywards, Twinning Assn.  October 2020 visit to Rimbach. 

 

Plans for the Twinning Association visit to Rimbach are now being prepared.

Passenger sitting in a ferryA preliminary booking has been made with Happy Days Coaches for the outward journey on Saturday 24th October, 2020, using the Dover/Calais ferry, stopping overnight in Leuven. The return trip will be on Friday and Saturday, 30/31 October, 2020, stopping overnight in Bruges and taking mid-day Calais/Folkestone Eurutunnel train. Both overnight stops will be at the Ibis hotels.

Programme for the week. 

A programme of visits and events during the week are still being planned and we have suggested to our hosts in Rimbach the following possible places for visits:-

Buildings in Germany
  • BASF/John Deere factories,
  • Asbach cognac distillery at Rudesheim, and
  • town visits to Darmstadt,
    • Weinheim,
    • Speyer and
    • Heidelburg.
Cost 

The cost per person will be £360 per person (plus any single room supplement of £80 for both overnight stays).
