The Accounts and Audit (Coronavirus)(Amendment) Regulations 2020
Owing to the increasing impact of COVID 19, MHCLG has made amended regulations which extend the statutory audit deadlines for 2019-20.
The requirement for the public inspection period to include the first ten working days of July has been removed.
Completion of the internal audit has been delayed by the the impact of COVID 19. The publication date for final, audited, accounts will move from 30 September to 30 November 2020.
Accessibility Regulations
We are aware that the Accounts and Audit Regulations requirement for a physical ‘wet ink’ signature on the original AGAR, does not allow parish council’s to fully comply with the Accessibility Regulations.
The National Audit Office are aware that the two pieces of legislation are not compatible. As the document is a scan of a document, it will not be fully compliant with the Accessibility Regulations.
